This facility offers a host of fabrication and characterization services for the organic thin films, crystals, composites and multilayer devices.  Complex multi-layer devices or composites can be fabricated and characterized under clean, inert environment.  A double glove box with integrated vacuum deposition chamber and spin coater can be used for physical vapor deposition of metals (electrodes) and small molecule organics (organic light emitting devices, for example) and spin coating of polymers in a clean, inert environment.  Both optical (luminescence intensity and spectra) and electrical characterization (I/V curve for example) of the materials can be carried out within the glove box.

This system is a two chamber glove box system with a spincoater (Specialty Coating Systems Model P6700) integrated into the smaller glove box chamber and an
Edwards thermal deposition chamber with four sources integrated into the larger box.
A 150°C vacuum oven/antechamber is mounted to one end of the glove box.

Brinkman Instruments Autolab with potentiostat/galvanostat
cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry, and frequency response analyzer (FRA) for characterizing electrode aging processes.

Roper Scientific (model Spec-10:400B) CCD
liquid nitrogen cooled, back illuminated high sensitivity camera system. 

Newport Model 1830C power meter and photodetectors
UV/Vis/NIR spectral coverage.

Air Products Model 9400 hydrogen generator

Denton Thermal Evaporation Chamber
